Creative Juices Flowing

Last week work was packed full or celebrations and goodbyes as we had people leaving for various reasons, three were leaving due to the fact they are pregnant and about to have sweet little babies. To celebrate this occasion we decided to have a baby shower breakfast. My task was to make a "fruit baby". So thanks to good old Pinterest I gained some inspiration for my task. I was quite happy with my finished product:

It was actually quite simple to make. All you need is a dummy, a large plate, a knife, mini scoop, whole watermelon, a rock melon and other fruit of your choice. My husband helped me carve out the watermelon and then I just scooped out balls of rock-melon, kiwi fruit, watermelon, and added grapes. I used a rock melon for the head which I just peeled the skin off with a peeler and then scooped the inside as much as I could without making a hole. I then used toothpicks to secure the eyes, ears and nose in place and cut out a small hole to poke the dummy in.

The baby was hit! everyone loved it and were a little apprehensive to eat something so-cute. Today I'm linking up with Jess from Lovely Little Things for her Smell The Roses weekly challenge which was to do something to "get your creative juices flowing".
