Happy Women's Day

March the 8th was International Woman's Day. This day is not as highly publicized or celebrated in Australia, but smatterings of festivities were spread across the country to celebrate this day. Equality and women's rights are something we younger generations don't really understand the significance of. We are extremely blessed to be born into a country where freedom of speech, gender equality and basic human rights are a given or strongly supported by existing governments. However this hasn't always been the norm, nor is it a reality for women in many countries around the world. So when women's day comes around next year perhaps you can take some time to be say a prayer for women in countries around the world who are still living under oppression. Or perhaps you can take time to celebrate significant women who are in your life. I love this picture that World Vision Australia placed on their Facebook Page.
